Gerharz Equipment was founded in 1969 in Syracuse, New York by Richard “Dick” Gerharz with a straightforward philosophy: a handshake is a commitment, and every client deserves service that exceeds their expectations.
What began as a local commercial foodservice equipment supplier has grown into one of the most respected B2B distribution businesses in Central New York. Today, Gerharz boasts the largest restaurant equipment warehouse in the region, serving restaurants, schools, hotels, hospitals, clubs, grocery stores, and institutional operators across New York State and the broader East Coast.
Dick’s son, Scott Gerharz, now leads the company with the same hands-on commitment to client satisfaction that defined day one. Our team brings nearly 1000 years of combined foodservice industry experience to every kitchen design project, equipment recommendation, and customer account. Acquired Central Restaurant Supply and began expanding offerings to restaurant smallwares and supplies.

220 Teall Ave Syracuse, New York
Gerharz Equipment purchased Central Restaurant Supply and begins expanding offerings outside of just Restaurant Equipment.
2023
Popcorn Supply Company
Purchased Popcorn Supply Company, broadening the company’s offerings to include concession equipment, popcorn supplies, and related concession products.
